Biographical Information:
Dr. Julia M. Pillsbury is originally from Philadelphia, PA. She studied nursing at Gwynedd Mercy College. Dr. Pillsbury worked in Philadelphia as a registered nurse. She enjoyed clinical practice and went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1981 from the Philadelphia College of Medicine.
Dr. Pillsbury received a military scholarship for medical school and studied Pediatrics at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO. She then married Lt. Col. James S. Pillsbury, DDS and transferred to the Air Force where she served as a Major and Chief of Pediatrics at Whiteman AFB. Dr. Pillsbury separated from the Air Force in 1988 and came to Dover, DE in 1989 where she held several positions. She started the Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in 1991.
She also served on the staff of Kent General Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. Dr. Pillsbury continues to work on a part-time basis at Kids & Teens Pediatrics.
Julia is the mother of two sons, John and Michael, and step-mother of Suzanne and James. She also has three grandchildren, Saskia, Marlee, and Katie.
